What we collect
- Account details: your name and email, and if you give them, your phone, company and country.
- Billing details: your plan, your payments, and your card's brand and last four digits. Card numbers are handled by our payment provider and never stored by us.
- Studio content: the recordings of your lives (the picture and sound of you, your co-hosts and your guests), the files you upload, your brand kit and your templates. They are stored on our studio servers for your account and deleted with it.
- Live destinations: the names, server addresses and stream keys you add on your dashboard. Stream keys are stored encrypted and are only sent to our studio servers, to go live where you choose.
- Studio usage: when your lives start and end, how long they last and whether they were recorded, so we can show you your usage.
- Technical data: your IP address and browser, for security (sign-in protection, rate limits) and for our logs.
- The messages you send us through the contact form.
Why we use it
To create and protect your account, take payments and renew your plan, open your studio, answer your messages, and send you emails about your account (verification, password resets, receipts, renewal notices).
Who we share it with
- Our payment provider, to charge your card.
- Our studio servers, which host your studio account and its content.
- An email provider, to deliver account emails.
We do not sell your data.
Connected social accounts
When you connect a YouTube channel, a Facebook Page or profile, an Instagram account or a Twitch channel to your studio, we keep its name, picture and ID on the platform, the access tokens the platform gives us, and the settings of your lives on it. We use them only to go live on that account when you choose to and to show the comments of that live in your studio. You can remove an account from your studio at any time: it is deleted with its tokens at once. The data deletion page explains every way to have this data deleted.
Cookies
The website sets only the cookies it needs to work:
- sg_session keeps you signed in, for 30 days at most or until you sign out.
- sg_2fa holds your two-step sign-in while you enter its code (10 minutes, or 30 minutes while two-step sign-in is being set up).
- sg_trust remembers that you chose to trust this browser for two-step sign-in, for 30 days.
- NEXT_LOCALE remembers your language, for a year.
- sg_sidebar remembers whether you collapsed the dashboard's side menu, for a year.
- sg_coupon keeps a discount code from a shared link until checkout, for 7 days.
- sg_team_invite keeps a team invitation while you create your account, until the invitation expires (7 days at most).
Your studio sets one cookie for each studio you are signed in to (its name starts with mcs_), which keeps you signed in to that studio for up to 12 hours. The dashboard also keeps a few display choices, such as which notifications you have seen, in your browser's own storage; they are not sent to us.
We use no advertising cookies and no analytics or tracking tools. The checkout page loads our payment provider's card form, which may set its own cookies to process and protect your payment. Our forms run a security check from our own captcha service. A YouTube video in a blog article loads only when you press play, in YouTube's privacy-enhanced player (youtube-nocookie.com).
How long we keep it
- Account and billing details, and your live destinations: while your account is open.
- Studio content (your recordings, uploaded files, brand kit and templates): while your plan is active. If your plan ends and is not renewed, your studio is kept for a while and we email you, at least 7 days ahead, the date it will be deleted with everything in it; it is also deleted with your account. Download the recordings you want to keep before then.
- Connected social accounts, with their tokens and the records of their lives: until you remove them from your studio, or until your studio or your account is deleted.
- The comments of a live are not saved: the latest ones are held in the studio server's memory during the live only. Commenters' pictures are kept in a short-term cache only to show them in the studio; the ones not shown for a week are removed when the cache is cleaned.
- Studio usage (when your lives started and ended, and whether they were recorded): while your account is open. After it is deleted, these figures are kept for our statistics without your name or email.
- Sign-ins: a sign-in on the website lasts 30 days at most and one in the studio 12 hours at most; expired ones are deleted, with the IP address and browser they were made from. Links we send by email (to confirm your email or reset your password) are deleted a week after they are used or expire.
- Payment records (amounts, dates, and the name and email on each receipt): as long as the law requires, even after an account is deleted.
- The log of important actions on accounts and payments (who did what, and when) and the log of the emails we send: kept for security, to settle disputes and to meet our legal duties, for as long as they are needed for that.
- Messages sent through the contact form: as long as we need them to answer you and follow up.
- The records our studio servers keep of their own work (recorder events, studio moves between servers and staff actions) are deleted automatically after 7 to 365 days, depending on the record. Other technical logs are kept only as long as we need them to run and protect the service.
- After a studio is deleted, our studio servers keep only the name of its link and the date it was deleted, so that the same link is never given to another studio.
